The shuttle bus, a very large and unusual one, takes the new arrivals up to town where the mandatory arrival briefing is held.', '\"Chapel of the Snows\", the southern most church in the world. This is the third church build in McMurdo, the first being destroyed by fire in 1978. A makeshift church served for 11 years until the present building was dedicated in 1989.', '\"Crary Lab\" complex on the right is the main scientific hub on station. A 3 level building housing a number of laboratories, offices and a library.', 'Pups are everywhere. The are still new pups being born, but many are alredy getting into the water.', 'Annie \"bagging\" a pup. The pup is placed in a canvas bag to make it easier to weigh it.', 'Jen is ready with the scale while Annie is closing the bag to keep the pub safe and calm. A piece of steel pipe is used to lift the pup, which can weigh up to 300 lb.', 'Annie and Jen using the photo equipment.
