Going Back To Antarctica (2006 season)

Home
Last year I went with the Montana State University (MSU) team to Antarctica. If you go to the [Going to Antarctica] link, you can read about the reasons why I got this opportunity in the first place and you can see some of the pictures I took and read about the experiences I had during this time.

This year (2006) I am fortunate enough to have been asked back and I will be joining the team on the ice in the beginning of November. My business partner, Ward, is also going this year. He goes for the first half of the season and I go for the rest.
My company, RANTEC International, has again been tasked with development work on a number of projects for Dr. Bob Garrett / MSU.

The 3 tasks are:

  - To further refine the photogrametry equipment we worked on last season
- To further refine the Sonar system we developed for the 2005 field season.
- To migrate and improve the database software, used for data collection in the field, from an older PDA based platform to a newer model PDA data collection devices.
If you are interested in more details about any of these pieces of equipment, feel free to write to me.
